Yemeni Oil Ministry regains the confidence of foreign companies
The Ministry of Oil and Minerals has achieved, during the past of three years, many achievements, including the resumption of production and export of oil from a number of sectors and oil
fields, and the restoration of confidence of foreign companies.
This comes through the adoption by the Ministry of a package of different measures and policies, based on the directives of His Excellency President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, President of the Republic, to contribute strongly to the recovery of the national economy, after being affected by the result of the ignition of the militia group of the Iranian Houthi coup war on legitimacy led by His Excellency the President of the Republic and causing corporate migration Oil production has stopped since 2015.
The annual report for the completion of the plan of the Ministry of Oil for the year 2019 AD reviewed the accomplished works and projects in the oil and minerals sector during the past of three years, starting with the return of production until the implementation of the pipeline linking sectors 5 and 4 in Shabwa Governorate.
The report, which the Yemeni news agency, Saba, received a copy of, confirmed the success of the Ministry of Oil in securing all production and export facilities, and bypassing many challenges.
The report monitored the return of the work of the Ministry and the oil companies by resuming oil production from the S2 sector in Shabwa Governorate at 16 thousand barrels per day in 2018, and resuming oil production from the Malik 9 sector in 2019.
The report pointed out that during the year 2019 AD, oil production was resumed in the governorate of Marib Sector (18) through the national operator Safer Exploration and Production Company, and Safer production reached 20 thousand barrels per day, including 8 to 10 thousand barrels locally, while the rest is exported, The achievements also included the resumption of production from the Messila fields in 2019 through the national operator Petro Messila to produce and explore oil, at about 33 thousand barrels per day.
The annual report referred to the return of the work of the Austrian Omv Company and the Cyprus Calvali Company, in addition to the continuous and continuous efforts to resume production and export of LNG ylng .. pointing out that the Ministry is currently working on preparing a new strategy for the oil sector that includes structuring and issuing a law related to oil agreements.
Ministry of Oil confirmed the existence of important and new strategic projects to activate the oil sector, including a 82-kilometer crude oil pipeline project, to link the 5-sector sector to Sector 4 West Ayyad to export crude oil to the productive sectors 5, 18 and S1 through the Nashima Petroleum Port, to contribute. By exporting 25 thousand barrels per day from Sector 5 – Heaven Hunt and facilitating the export of Marib Oil Sector 18 at a rate of 20 thousand barrels per day and facilitating the export of crude oil from Sector S1 by about 12 thousand barrels per day, as well as restarting production facilities and re-producing crude oil from all production fields in my province Shabwah and Ma’rib at the lowest cost.
The report pointed out that the pipeline is important, as it will transport 57 thousand barrels of oil per day, which can be increased, and will provide a daily income for the state amounting to about $ 3.6 million per day, will revive the production of fields and oil industries, and will contribute to the return of foreign companies operating for production and open the way for new investments and help return work Natural gas project.
The report said that the successes also include a project to rehabilitate the Al-Nushima Petroleum Port from the beginning of 2018 to become an important sea port for crude oil exports, through which 600,000 barrels are exported every 40 days, and this project is one of the alternatives that the Ministry has taken to return the production and export of crude oil after The export pipeline Safer – Ras Issa has stopped, after it became impossible to use it for this purpose because the Houthi militias emptied the pipeline from oil and made it vulnerable to echo and extinction.
