His Excellency Mr. Abdul Salam Abdullah Baaboud, Minister of Oil and Minerals, and with him Professor Essam Habrish Al Kathiri, Deputy Governor of Hadramout for Wadi and Desert Directorates Affairs, briefed the progress of work in a number of health and educational projects that are being implemented in Seiyun funded by the Hadramout governorate’s share of oil revenues.
Minister Baaboud inspected the progress of work in the implementation of infrastructure development projects for the Seiyun Hospital Authority represented by the projects of the Academic Hospital, the Women’s Registration Department, the rehabilitation of the Authority’s electricity and the construction of its own gate that is currently being implemented, in addition to the projects that have been completed in the Authority represented in the projects of rehabilitation of the Department Children and the construction of the second floor of the National Cancer Center and the construction of the National Center, Public Health Laboratories and the National Center for Blood Transfusion and its research, at a total cost of 3 million 366 thousand and 651 dollars funded by the local authority in the valley and the desert from the percentage of oil revenues. Work progress in the project to build the Technical Institute and Vocational Training in Seiyun, which is being implemented at a cost of $ 706,000 and $ 72.
The Minister of Oil and Minerals praised the efforts of the local authority in the valley and the desert in optimizing the percentage of oil sales approved by His Excellency President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, President of the Republic, for oil-producing regions to serve community development and build new projects that contribute to real development events.
Professor Issam Habrish Al Kathiri, the Undersecretary of Hadramout Governorate for the Valley and Desert Directorates, indicated that the local authority in the valley and the desert, and since the President’s announcement that the governorate was granted this percentage, had formed an official committee to manage it and held workshops in which district directors and various service sectors participated to draw up a comprehensive development plan. Pointing out that the committee approved the implementation of 104 development projects at a total cost of $ 43 million, adding to 65% of these projects have been completed while work is being done at a high rate on the remaining projects.
The minister was accompanied by the first undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, Eng. Shawqi Al-Mikhlafi, and the Undersecretary of Hadramout Governorate, Sheikh Salem bin Sharman, Dr. Anwar Hassan, Executive Director of the Yemeni Gas Company, Engineer Ghaleb Mabkhout bin Muayli, Acting Executive Director of the Yemeni Oil Company, and Director General of External Relations at the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, Mr. Raed Yunus And the directors of the Yemeni Oil Company in Hadramout governorate are Mr. Abdulrahman Belfas and Dr. Khaled Al-Akbari.
