The Minister of Oil and Minerals and the Governor of Hadramout lay the foundation stone for the two projects of the strategic gas and storage facility for oil derivatives in Hadramout coast

Minister of Oil and Minerals, Abd al-Salam Abdullah Baaboud, and the Governor of Hadramout, Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Faraj Salmeen al-Bahsani, today in the Burum Mayfa district, west of the city of Mukalla, laid the foundation stone for the strategic gas and storage facility project of the Yemeni Gas Company on the coast of Hadramout

Minister Baaboud stressed the importance of the vital project that will expand the storage capacity of domestic gas, and will serve the people of Hadramout and the neighboring governorates and meet their gas needs, and Minister Baaboud indicated that the presence of the leadership of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals these days in Hadramout comes as a translation of the directives of His Excellency President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, President of the Republic To go to the governorates, feel their conditions and meet their requirements, praising the level of security stability in Hadramout, which has contributed to the implementation of many projects and the rotation of the development wheel in the governorate.

Minister Baaboud and Governor Al-Bahsani also laid the foundation stone for the first phase of the strategic storage project for oil derivatives, today in the city of Burum in the Burum Mayfa’a District.
Minister Baaboud stressed the importance of the strategic storage project to ensure a mechanism for providing a stock of derivatives to feed the local market and neighboring governorates and prevent crises in this aspect.
In turn, the Governor of Hadhramaut stated that this project comes in the context of the governorate’s directions to transfer oil derivative tanks to safer areas away from population centers.

The Governor of Al-Bahsani stressed that these strategic storage projects are of utmost importance to the local authority in Hadramout due to the expansion of the governorate’s geographical area and to reduce bottlenecks and crises that occur due to delayed supplies of derivatives sometimes.
The Governor of Hadramawt appreciated the efforts of the leadership of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals and its rapid response to implement the directives of His Excellency President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, President of the Republic, and to bring vital projects into existence.
He was accompanied by the Minister of Oil and Minerals and the Governor of Hadramout, the first undersecretary of the Hadramout governorate, Sheikh Amr bin Habrish Al-Ali, the governorate’s undersecretary for valley and desert affairs, Essam Habrish Al-Kathiri, the governorate’s and ministry’s agents, and a number of general directors of ministries ’offices, bodies and companies in Hadramout.
