Today, the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority in the temporary capital of Aden organized a scientific symposium on industrial rocks and building materials in Yemen, with the participation of a group of academics, researchers and specialists in the field of geology, mineral wealth and mining from Yemen, Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Muscat and Sudan.
The symposium, which was held at the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, through visual communication technology, discussed a number of research papers centered on the transformational mining strategy within the geographical scope and investment opportunities for the mining sector in Shabwa governorate, the reality of the iron and casting industry in Yemen, mineral and industrial investment opportunities, in addition to The coal industry in Wadi Howeera in Hadramout and the experience of the Republic of Sudan in the field of mining, and the stone industry and its types.
In the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Saeed Al-Shamasy, stressed the importance of holding the symposium To develop the mineral and construction industry, sites for industrial rocks and construction materials, as they are the most important projects implemented by the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority, and to provide statistical data and research on mineral resources exploited in Yemen … indicating that the ministry’s vision and strategy falls within the government’s program for this stage, which includes promoting mineral industries and entering materials. In the field of construction and construction, and the optimal contribution of the minerals sector to achieving the objectives entrusted to it, and it is relied upon to advance the process of development and economic recovery of the country.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade stated that the ministry, in partnership with the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, will develop a road map for the guiding principles of the group in strategic industries and strive to modernize and develop local competencies and improve and develop the mining sector, provided that it is done by scientific, technical and technical methods .. praising the achievements made by the Ministry of Oil and Minerals through Geological exploration sector … expressing his confidence that the symposium will come out with a clear vision that serves the trends towards the development of industries and mining and its sustainability in promoting national economic growth.
The recommendations also emphasized the importance of conducting detailed studies of deposits of metallic minerals, minerals and industrial rocks in the specified areas, estimating their reserves and conducting detailed studies of the economic cost.
