SEOUL (Reuters)
Korea imported 1.2 million tons of crude oil from Iran in March, down 12 percent from the previous year, preliminary data from the Korea Customs Administration showed.
This is equivalent to 8.9 million barrels, according to Reuters calculations. South Korea, the world’s fifth largest crude oil buyer, imported a total of 11.5 million tons of oil last month, up from 10.9 million tons a year earlier, the data showed.
The state-run Korea National Oil Company will release final data on South Korea’s crude oil imports for March later this month. The company’s data is the industrial standard for South Korea’s oil imports.
